Santa Claus Charity Ski Show Celebrates Ten Years Of Community Support

Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 p.m. | Mirror Bay, Main Street, Kearney

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm, Santa Claus and the country’s top show skiers from Canada’s National Waterski Show team will return to Kearney for the 10th Annual Santa Claus Charity Ski Show, presented by NyDock.

Ten years ago, the Santa Claus Charity Ski Show began with a simple idea: bring some Christmas spirit to Kearney and collect a few boxes of non-perishable food for local families. Today, that small idea has grown into a community tradition that has made a significant impact. To mark the 10th anniversary, organizers are setting their biggest goal yet: to raise more than $35,000 for the Burk’s Falls Food Bank this holiday season.

World-class waterskiers, barefooters, wakeboarders, and surprise guests will perform a Christmas-themed spectacle and brave the frigid waters of Mirror Bay all for a good cause. 6 years old Audrey Lou Who may even try skiing – the youngest skier to ever participate in the show!

Admission to the show is cash donation or non-perishable food items. Donations can also be made online to receive a charitable tax receipt through the 2026 Santa Ski Show Fundraiser on CanadaHelps website.

New this year there will be a festive vendor market from 9 am  to 4 pm at the Kearney Community Centre featuring holiday treats, Santa Ski Show merchandise, crafts and local finds. Before the main event there will be live music by Johnny Kennedy and a festive parade featuring Santa Claus.

The growth of the event has been driven by the incredible generosity of the community. Since 2021, the event has raised more than $60,000 and collected over 10,000 pounds of food for the Burks Falls Food Bank.

“When we started this event, we never imagined it would grow to this scale,” said Blair Ballantyne, a community volunteer. “The success belongs to this community. Local businesses, volunteers, waterskiers and spectators have all come together year after year to support local families. What started with a few boxes of food has become something truly special, as the event has become the largest single contributor to the Burk’s Falls Food Bank.

Last year the Santa Claus Charity Ski Show was able to break fundraising records thanks to significant donations from the Global Battery Materials’ Kearney Mine, the Algonquin West ATV Club and Fowler Construction, as well as the support of the Kearney Legion.

After ten years, the mission remains the same — bring people together, have some fun and give back to the community.

“What makes the Santa Ski Show so special is the way this community comes together to support local families,” said the NyDock management team. “As the presenting sponsor we’re proud to support an event that has grown from a small local initiative into a tremendous fundraiser. Reaching 10 years is an incredible milestone, and we’re excited to see what the community can accomplish together this year.”
