Police Officer Taken To Hospital After Being Assaulted In Orillia

The Orillia OPP have arrested an individual for assault peace officer, after refusing to leave an address in Orillia.

On June 22, 2022, shortly before 3 p.m. police were dispatched to a call for an unwanted person at a home on West St. South in Orillia. Upon police arrival, the individual refused to leave the location. While attempting to arrest the individual, two police officers were assaulted. One officer was injured and had to attend hospital for treatment. Officers were able to arrest the individual and have charged one Orillia resident.

Tyler Loucks (age 35), of Orillia, was charged with the following:

  • Assault peace officer- 2 counts
  • Utter Threats- cause bodily harm

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and will appear on August 9, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, Ontario.
