Police Find $50,000 Worth Of Drugs And Cash At A Home In Bancroft

Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have seized approximately $50,000 worth of drugs and cash from a home in Bancroft, Ontario.

On December 20, 2024, shortly after 9:00 a.m., officers attended a residence in the Town of Bancroft to retrieve medications for a party that was in police custody. While at the residence, police located an individual that was wanted by police. Upon arresting the male, officers discovered the following on their person:

  • Over $2,000 Canadian dollars
  • 104 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 11 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 11 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 16 grams of suspected heroin
  • 17 pills of suspected oxycodone

 

Mitchell Grimes, 33 years of age faces the following charges:

 

·      Adult failure to comply with a release order X3

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drug

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid X2

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Heroin

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

 

Grimes remains in police custody, pending a bail hearing.
