Penetanguishene Resident Faces Drug Charges

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a lengthy drug investigation.

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, members from the Southern Georgian Bay CSCU with assistance from Muskoka CSCU, the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET), and SGB Uniform patrol executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at residences in Penetanguishene and Midland, as well as a downtown Midland business.

As a result of the investigation, Trenton Duff, 31 years of age of Penetanguishene, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of distribution
  • Possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of selling
  • Cultivation of more than four cannabis plants in a dwelling-house
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking

The accused was held for a bail hearing due to current charges before the courts, and released with a future court date of Thursday, October 22, 2026.

A 26 year old female was also charged with two offences under the Cannabis Act and released with a future court date.
