Penetanguishene Resident Charged With Impaired After Collision

A Penetanguishene driver self reported to the OPP Communication Centre a single vehicle crash into a utility pole on Reeves Road, Tay Township at approximately 2:41 p.m. May 13, 2024.

The vehicle was located on Wye Valley Road, Midland and lone occupant of the vehicle was triaged by Simcoe County Paramedics and spoken to by attending officers who entered into a drinking and driving investigation.

As a result, Cody Beasley 33 yrs was treated for minor injuries and upon completion of the investigation was charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Fail to remain
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 30, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
