Orillia Youth Worker Charged After Sexual Assault Investigation

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime Unit has charged one individual in relation to a sexual assault investigation.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, police began an investigation into a report of a sexual assault that occurred in the City of Orillia.

As a result of this investigation, Chris Bronson, 43-years-old, employed by the Orillia Youth Centre for the last 15 years, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 18 yrs of age
  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Sexual Assault
  • Luring a Person under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication

The accused has been arrested and subsequently held for bail.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are committed to ensuring all individuals affected receive the support and justice they deserve. At the time of the incident, the accused and the victims were members of the same residential community in Orillia.
