Orillia Resident Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

On April 5, 2022, at 2:30 a.m, the Orillia OPP initiated a vehicle stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested the driver of the vehicle. The accused, Alexander Cameron, 29, of the City of Orillia was charged with the following:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Poss. of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing
  • Possession of illicit cannabis
  • Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

The accused was released on an appearance notice with a Court Date of May 17 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Orillia.
