Orillia OPP Lay Drug Trafficking Charges And Seize Quantity Of Drugs

The Orillia OPP Community Street Crime Unit have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of drugs.

In January of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs into the City of Orillia. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to gather evidence further advancing their investigation. On February 22, 2024 – satisfied with the information gathered the Orillia CSCU with the assistance of front-line officers arrested the individual and they were safely brought into police custody.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

  • cocaine 31 grams
  • 35 oxycodone pills
  • MDMA(ecstasy) 1 gram
  • two digital scales
  • two cellular devices
  • gold chain and broach – value $30,000
  • Canadian Currency $4380

 

Andrew Briscoe, 21 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

·      Possession of schedule 1 substance (ecstasy)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in April 2024.
