The Orillia OPP say they have arrested two suspects following a dispute which led to two break and enters in Orillia.
On June 16, 2021, just after 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a complaint involving two males who were unwanted in a home, one brandishing a knife, on Walker Avenue. The two fled the scene and officers responded quickly and began a search for the suspects.
They were subsequently located and arrested in separate homes nearby as further investigation revealed that they had both broken into the units while trying to evade the police. A quantity of fentanyl was also seized after one of the suspects was located in the washing machine, hiding from officers.
39-year-old John Greer of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault with A Weapon
- Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
- Two counts of Failure to comply with release order
In addition, Jobi Greer, age 27, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault with A Weapon
- Break, enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
- Theft Under $5000
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid
- To counts of Failure to comply with release order
Both accused parties were held in custody for bail hearings,
