Orillia Charity Bonspiel On Jan. 31stWill Support Lighthouse Emergency Shelter

The Orillia community is invited to come together on Saturday, January 31, 2026,
for the Orillia Charity Bonspiel, a fundraising curling event focused on connection, compassion, and community impact. Hosted at the Orillia Curling Club, the event will bring participants together for a fun and meaningful day on the ice in support of a vital local cause.

The City of Orillia has generously donated the ice, ensuring that 100 percent of all funds raised through ticket sales and the 50/50 draw will be donated directly to The Lighthouse Emergency Shelter’s Coldest Night of the Year campaign.

The Orillia Charity Bonspiel proudly supports The Lighthouse Emergency Shelter, which
provides emergency shelter, medical care, outreach services, and mental health supports for individuals experiencing homelessness. Funds raised through this event help ensure community members have access to safety, dignity, and hope during the coldest months of the year.

Participants can look forward to a day of curling and community fun, including:
● Two games of curling
● A draw to the button challenge
● Lunch with dessert, muffins, and coffee
● Swag from Steam Whistle
● A 50/50 draw
● Door prizes and team prizes
Event Format and Cost:
● $30 per person ($120 per team)
Event Schedule:
● 8:30-9:00 a.m. – Registration
● 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Muffins and coffee

Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to get involved in several meaningful ways:
● Register and participate for a fun and impactful day of curling at orilliacurlingclub.ca
● Spread the word by sharing the event within personal and professional networks
● Make a donation to The Orillia Curling Clubs Coldest Night of the Year team page
● Sponsor the event, helping offset food and hospitality costs while increasing the total
funds raised for The Lighthouse

Event organizers are also seeking a Matching Funds Partner to help double donations and
amplify the impact of community giving. Matching gifts are a powerful way to inspire generosity and strengthen local support for The Lighthouse’s critical work.

Donations can be made directly through the official Coldest Night of the Year fundraising page for this event: https://gather.w-ith.me/CharityBonspiel

All financial and in-kind support will directly contribute to the success of the Orillia Charity
