OPP Looking For Witnesses After Collision In Oro Medonte

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision on Horseshoe Valley Road in Oro Medonte.

On Friday, January 16, 2026, just after 8:00 p.m., members of Orillia OPP responded to a head-on collision involving a van and an SUV. The occupants of the SUV, the driver and two children, were transported to a local hospital. The driver and one child were later transferred to regional trauma centres with serious injuries. The other child sustained minor injuries. The driver of the van was also transported to a regional trauma centre with serious injuries. The other occupants of the van, two children, sustained minor injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist assisted the Orillia OPP during the investigation. Horseshoe Valley Road between Line 5 North and Line 6 North was closed throughout the night and has since reopened.
