Michelle Vanier 25 years of Tiny Township faces criminal code driving charges after Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers responded to a report at 11:21 p.m. May 29, 2022 from a motorist of a possible impaired driver on Hugel Avenue in Midland.
Officers were able to locate and safely stop the suspect vehicle near Fuller Avenue and Robert Street East, Penetanguishene and entered into an impaired driving investigation with the lone occupant.
As a result, the accused has been charged with the following offences
- Operation while impaired – drugs
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was released on an undertaking to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 23, 2022 and also faces a 90 day drivers licence suspension and a 45 day vehicle impound as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
