Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP of the OPP are currently investigating a home invasion and are asking for public assistance.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, at approximately 9:46 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call to the OPP Communications Centre reporting an unlawful entry into a residence near the intersection of Truax Lane and Bannister Street on Vasey Road in the village of Waverley, Tay Township. Upon arrival officers learned that the family occupying the residence was alleged to have been threatened by three males brandishing firearms.
The residents were unharmed in the incident and the suspects left the scene in an unknown direction operating a dark coloured Dodge Durango.
The suspects are described as three black males wearing bandanas with no further description currently.
Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Crime Unit are assisting uniform members in this ongoing investigation.
The suspects could be possibly armed, do not approach if located. Contact 9-1-1.
Currently, investigators believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
