The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) intercepted possible plans for a drone drop in Gravenhurst.
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, just after 1:00 a.m., members of the Central Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) were proactively patrolling the Gravenhurst area and conducted an investigation into a suspicious vehicle that was parked on Barnes Road. During the course of their investigation, officers discovered items consistent with the trafficking of contraband into the nearby correctional institution, including a drone.
Police have charged 27-year-old Sabrina Landry of Laval, Quebec with:
· Possession of Schedule I substance (Methamphetamine) for the purposes of Trafficking
· Possession for the Purpose of Distributing X 2
· Possession of Contraband…before visitor control point in a penitentiary X 2
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
She was held for a bail hearing later that day in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, subsequently released and will appear next on November 17, 2026 to answer to her charges.
