The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with multiple offences.
On May 11, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m. members of the West Parry Sound OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township. Officers located and stopped the vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver.
As a result of the investigation, Richard Fox, 33 years-of-age of Wikwemikong Ontario was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 6, 2024. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The West Parry Sound OPP would like to remind the public to call 911 should they suspect impaired driving.
