At 7:35 p.m. May 27, 2022 Southern Georgian Bay OPP marine unit officers checked a vessel in the Tomahawk Channel of Georgian Bay Township and as a result entered into a drinking and operating investigation.
Charles Burnham FRY 22 years of Ann Arbour Michigan has been charged criminally with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released on an undertaking to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 9, 2022 and also faces a drivers licence suspension as per the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
At 7:50 p.m. May 27, 2022 road patrol officers acting on a traffic complaint on Highway 93 at Ebenezer Side Road in Tiny Township located the suspect vehicle and entered into a drinking and driving investigation upon speaking with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel Jerome PLAATJES 42 years of Innisfil has been charged with the following criminal code offences.
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open original packaging
- Driving while under suspension
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused was held for a bail hearing to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date and also receives a licence suspension and vehicle impoundment within the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
