Orillia OPP attended a train stoppage after one pedestrian was struck on the train tracks near Horseshoe valley Road in Oro-Medonte, Ontario.
On November 5, 2024, shortly before 3:00 a.m., members of the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to Horseshoe Valley Road near Craighurst in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, for a report of an individual walking near the train tracks.
Orillia OPP along with CN Rail, Simcoe County Paramedic Services and Township of Oro-Medonte fire arrived after reports of one individual being struck by a train. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The roadway was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
