On February 6, 2024 at about 3:30 a.m., members of the Sothern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police(OPP) received a call from a passing motorist regarding a vehicle in the ditch on Concession Road 9 West, west of Simcoe Road 6 in Tiny Township. The motorist attempted of assist the occupant of the vehicle however was unable to due to the position of the car. Sadly, one occupant, a 39 year-old male from Tiny Township, was located in the vehicle and was pronounced deceased. The collision is believed to have taken place about 2:15 a.m. and no evidence exists to indicate there were any other vehicles involved.
The roadway was closed to allow for investigation of the scene by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), it was reopened in the early afternoon.
Investigators of this occurrence are reaching out the public for information regarding this collision. Anyone who may have been travelling in the area of Concession 9 West in Tiny Township on February 6, 2024, between midnight and 3:30am or may have dashcam footage is asked to contact Constable Trevor Ball at OPP.Southern.Georgian.Bay@opp.ca or call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
