The Township of Ramara and MuskokaWifi are pleased to announce that residents in the northern end of Ramara have access to faster rural internet.

“Enhancing internet services in the Township of Ramara has been a strategic goal of Council since being elected in 2018,” reportsMayor Basil Clarke. “Our partnership with MuskokaWifi will provide enhanced services in the northern end of the Township that will provide equitable access to information, resources, educational tools and services.”

In 2021, the Township of Ramara requested proposals from ISP providers to serve six service gaps in Ramara. MuskokaWifi, a local wireless high-speed provider, provided a proposal to help service around 200 homes in the northern end of Ramara with the installation of two 120′ towers. The two towers will provide service up to 50 Megabits per second (Mbps) with unlimited data to 200 rural households and small businesses.

“We are proud to have been chosen to serve our neighbours and friends at Ramara Township,”said William Holmes, Founder and President of MuskokaWifi. “Our mission is to serve those of us that have had a hard time finding quality, consistent high-speed internet. We?d like to thank the Township of Ramara for significantly investing in the community with this partnership and look forward to welcoming the residents of Ramara to MuskokaWifi.”

Residents can call 705-795-9434, email sales@muskokawifi.ca or visit MuskokaWifi’s website www.muskokawifi.ca to learn more about service availability, packages and prices.

To help residents with their questions regarding prices, packages and availability in their area, MuskokaWifi will have a representative on-site at the Township Administration Building on April 22, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Ramara Centre on April 23, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Township of Ramara continues to focus on expanding high-speed internet services to households within Ramara.
