Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges in the Municipality of Dysart et Al.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at around 8:20 p.m., officers observed a motorcycle travelling eastbound on Loop Road at a high rate of speed and observed that the driver was not wearing a helmet. Officers located the driver and subsequently entered into an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, Christopher Clements, a 50-year-old of Cambridge, was charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
· Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – two counts
· Drive motor vehicle, no plates
· Drive motor vehicle, no permit
· Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
· Fail to wear a proper helmet on motorcycle
The accused is scheduled to appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on a later date.
As a result of the charges, the driver received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
