Minor Collision Leads To Impaired Charge In Orillia

The Orillia OPP say they have arrested an Orleans ON, woman following a minor collision in Orillia.

On May 13, 2022, shortly after 9:30 p.m, officers were witnessed a minor collision in a Memorial Avenue business parking lot, where one driver attempted to leave the scene. Officers quickly initiated a traffic stop, and entered into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested at the scene.

As a result, Oenone Esperance, age 29, of Orleans, ON, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Refusal to Comply with a demand- Contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Fail to Remain- Highway Traffic Act
  • Having Care or Control of a Motor vehicle with open container of Liquor – Liquor License Control Act
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available- Cannabis Control Act

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear on June 14, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
