Midland Resident Charged In Connection To Shoplifting Incidents

Johnathon James Fournier 36 years of no fixed address Midland has caught the attention of numerous Midland area retail stores lately. Store security at Staff at the Midland Canadian Tire retail store contacted the OPP Communications Center at approximately 1:20 p.m. May 19, 2023, after store security apprehended an individual who failed to pay for several electronic items in the store.

The suspect was arrested, and a further investigation led officers to locate more retail items from another Midland retail store. Electronic surveillance and store security at the Midland Foodland store confirmed that the accused had attended the store and exited at approximately 12:45 p.m. May 19, 2023, without paying for several in store items.

The accused was charged criminally with the following offences- Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING (two counts), Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (two counts), Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts).

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
