The Orillia OPP have arrested a male in connection to numerous Robberies in the City of Orillia.
On February 5th, 2024, at about 1:30 p.m., officers of the Orillia OPP detachment responded a Robbery where an unknown male entered a bank, advised the teller he was armed with a weapon, and demanded cash. Police immediately attended and canvassed the area.
On February 5th, 2024, at about 5:30 p.m., officers of the Orillia OPP were advised of another Robbery occurring at a Memorial Ave business. Again, police immediately attended the area, setting up containment which ultimately led to the arrest of the male party.
Just before 6:30 p.m., Stephen Fletcher, 24-year-old of Orillia was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Violence x 2
At 8:00 p.m., officers of the Orillia OPP received further information from a different Memorial Ave business that earlier in the evening an unknown male party attended their location, threatened violence and demanded cash. Officers attended and confirmed the identity of the involved male to be the same male who was arrested.
As a result, the accused faces an additional charge of:
- Robbery with Violence
Mr. Fletcher was held in custody for a bail hearing.
