Magnetawan Teen Charged For Stealing $84,000 Worth Of Lottery Tickets

The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) have made an arrest after thousands of dollars in lottery tickets were stolen.

Back on February 12, 2024 members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a theft of lottery tickets from a business in Magnetawan Ontario. With the assistance of the OLG it was determined that approximately $84,000.00 worth of lottery tickets were taken from the business over a period of months.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Magnetawan Ontario was arrested and charged with Theft over $5000.00.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 27, 2024. The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
