On May 2, 2022 the West Parry Sound OPP and Crime Unit, the North East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP’S Forensic Identification Services Unit responded to a report of human remains in a wooded area near Oastler Park Drive.
The deceased has been identified as Shaun Mullen, 63 years-of-age of Parry Sound. Mullen had been the subject of a missing person investigation since April 2018 by the West Parry Sound OPP.
Foul play has been ruled out.
The investigation, under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), was conducted in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
