Impaired Driving Charge Laid After Multiple Driving Complaints On Hwy. 12

The Orillia OPP have arrested and charged an individual from Scarborough, ON with impaired driving following a traffic stop in Ramara.

On June 25, 2022, shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to multiple driving complaints on Highway 12 exiting Orillia. Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and transported to a local Police Station for further investigation. Police also located an open container of alcohol and cannabis that was accessible to the driver in the vehicle.

As a result, Jason Jenereaux, age 35, of Scarborough, ON, has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired- Alcohol and Drugs
  • Failure or Refusal to comply with demand
  • Drive Motor Vehicle- liquor readily available
  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis readily available

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear on July 19, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia. Their vehicle was impounded for 7-days and an Administrative Drivers Licence suspension for 90 days was issued.
