Huntsville OPP Busy With Break And Enters, Domestic Violence Incidents

The Huntsville OPP responded to 309 calls for service during the week of Sunday June 19, 2022, to Saturday June 25, 2022.

Traffic complaints and enforcement

Eighty-two investigations were conducted by detachment members the past week.

R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere)

Seven R.I.D.E lanes were set up by detachment members on area roadways the past week.

Domestic Violence

Detachment members investigated five domestic disputes the past week.

One accused has been charged with assault. The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 12, 2022.

Theft of vehicle and property crimes

The Huntsville OPP are attempting to locate a stolen white 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, Ontario licence plate, CMAZ287.

The vehicle was stolen by suspects from an address on Southdale Dr., Huntsville sometime during the night of June 23, 2022, and early morning hours of June 24, 2022.

Suspect 1: Wearing a white hoodie, black pants.

Suspect 2: Wearing all black

The vehicle was subsequently used in the following crimes over the early morning hours of June 24, 2022.

Break and enter of Pizza Nova located on Main St. East, town of Huntsville. Suspects gained entry to the business by throwing a rock through front door of the business. Suspects stole a quantity of cash along with a Sick Kids Hospital donations box.

Attempted break and enter of The Green Bouquet Cannabis store, located on South Mary St., Port Sydney at 2:30 a.m. Two suspects attempted to enter the locked door of the business then proceeded to throw a rock through the front window and fled the area.

Break and enter of Heart of Muskoka Fries located on Muskoka Rd. 10, Port Sydney. The suspects gained entry through a broken window and stole a quantity of cash.
