After an extensive search, the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HfA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Justine Brown as its new Managing Director.
Many in the Huntsville community will recognize Justine’s name. As co-owner of FITT Events, she planned and led the popular Band on the Run event for eight years. During this time, she also operated What’s Inside Solutions, a full-service marketing company providing creative and strategic services to small and medium-sized businesses.
Over the past several years, Justine has been traveling with her partner, Rob Horton, while running a successful online business, Reboot With Real Foods, which offers a comprehensive nutrition education program. Now returning to Huntsville, Justine joins HfA at a pivotal moment, bringing a diverse skill set and strong community connections to support the organization’s continued growth.
“HfA has always held a special place in my heart,” says Brown. “I’m incredibly excited to return to Huntsville and step into this role at such an important time for the organization. I look forward to working alongside the team, artists, volunteers, and community to help ensure HfA continues to thrive and inspire for years to come.”
Justine’s relationship with HfA runs deep. She previously served as a volunteer board member from 2012 to 2016, gaining firsthand insight into the organization’s mission and operations.
Working alongside Artistic Director Dan Watson, Justine will serve as HfA’s senior administrative leader, responsible for overseeing fundraising, finances, and membership—balancing artistic excellence with sound financial management and meaningful community impact.
“I’m so thrilled to be working with Justine,” says Watson. “She brings a wealth of skills and experience, as well as deep connections in this community. I’m excited about the future of HfA with her as Managing Director.”
To welcome Justine to her new role, HfA will host an informal meet-and-greet at Canvas Brewery on January 23 from 3:00–5:00 PM. Friends of the Festival, supporters, and members of the public are invited to attend. No RSVP is required.
