Residents and stakeholders are invited to attend an in-person public open house to review the draft concepts for a proposed community park on Thursday, April 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. The proposed 9.34 hectare parkland is located between Little Ryan’s Way, Douglas Drive and the Canadian National (CN) Rail Line and is planned to include a:

  • Pump track and park shelter;
  • Parking area with access from Douglas Drive;
  • Site furnishings including benches, picnic tables, bike racks and garbage containers;
  • Portable washroom facilities;
  • Trail linkages; and
  • Signage and fencing.

For those unable to attend in-person, comments and feedback can be submitted online at engagebracebridge.ca/communitypark.

Town of Bracebridge staff carried out a feasibility study for the development of a pump track bike park from 2019 to 2021. This study confirmed that the addition of a community park would be well-utilized by residents and visitors, and provide an additional option for physical activity, an outdoor space for youth, and community engagement.

In March, Public Works staff presented Staff Report PW001-23, to Town Council to discuss the conceptual design and cost estimate for the community park and pump track on the Town-owned parkland.
