On February 28, 2022 at 7:20 p.m., Huntsville OPP responded to reports of a vehicle going northbound in the southbound lanes on Highway 11 near Highway 60.
While attempting to locate and intercept the car, officers located a head on collision in the southbound lanes of Highway 11 in the area of Old North Road.
The collision involved a transport truck and SUV.
The 64-year-old male driver of the SUV was transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to a local hospital and then by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.
