On Monday February 28, 2022 at 8:30 a.m., North Bay OPP received a call for a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 near North Bay.
Police were informed the driver failed to remain.
Almaguin Highlands OPP assisted in locating the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle was located on Machar Strong Boundary Road, Machar Township (TWP) after it had entered the ditch.
The driver had fled the scene however police eventually located the suspect and was transported back to the Almaguin Highlands Detachment.
Further investigation by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was completed and as a result the driver, Brooklyn Robinson, 23 years-of-age of North Bay Ontario was charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Break, Enter a dwelling house with intention to commit indictable offence
- Possession of schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Fail to remain
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday April 14, 2022 in Sundridge, Ontario.
