While on general patrol on 69 Highway, police stopped a vehicle and charged the driver with impaired operation and Highway Traffic Act offences.
On March 5, 2023, members from the West Parry Sound OPP, were on general patrol when officers stopped a vehicle on 69 Highway in Carling Township.
As a result of further investigation, Kyle Binks, 32 years-of-age of Sudbury, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle – preform stunt – two counts
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on April 6, 2023. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
This charge marks the 8th driver charged under Criminal Impaired Driving Laws in the West Parry Sound Detachment area in 2023.
