The Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a collision on Rain Lake Road in the Town of Kearney. Police say they got the call on On Saturday June 19, 2021 at 10 p.m.,
The driver fled the scene on foot and was located by officers shortly after.
Further police investigation revealed that the driver, Troy Peavoy, 42 years-of-age of Kearney in Ontario had been drinking and was subsequently arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drug and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday August 26, 2021 in Sundridge Ontario.
