Downtown Midland Disturbance Investigation Results In Arrest

Numerous calls around 12:03 p.m. February 22, 2024, from the downtown Midland business community reporting of the erratic behaviour of an individual has resulted in the arrest of a 32 year old male from Christian Island. Reports received by the OPP Communication Centre indicated an individual was jumping in front of vehicles and causing a disturbance in the banking community was responded to originally by members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment.

The individual was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and taken to Detachment for further investigation. Through the process of investigation, the individual was found to be wanted by the Christian Island Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service who attended the Detachment and continued an ongoing investigation involving the male who was later held in custody for a bail hearing.
