The City of Orillia will be hosting the Ontario Small Urban Municipalities (OSUM) Conference from May 1 to 3, 2024 at the Orillia Recreation Centre.

“We would like to welcome the delegates and participants of the OSUM Conference to the Sunshine City,” said Mayor Don McIsaac. “More than 150 municipal leaders from across Ontario will attend the conference to discuss important issues and topics facing municipalities throughout the province. Hosting this event in Orillia is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our beautiful city.”

During the conference, the aquatics centre and fitness centre at the Orillia Recreation Centre will remain available for drop-in and regularly scheduled programming. The track will also remain available throughout the conference. However, from May 1 to 3, 2024, the gymnasium will be unavailable for programming. Parking availability may be limited for recreation participants during the duration of the conference.

The OSUM Conference is an opportunity for municipal leaders to come together, learn from experts and work together to address the unique challenges facing Ontario’s counties, small cities and towns. The conference attracts hundreds of municipal leaders from across the province.

The City of Orillia was awarded to host the OSUM Conference in 2020. It is estimated the economic impact to the community as a result of hosting the conference is more than $80,000.
