The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 in Gravenhurst on August 5, 2025.
On August 5, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers along with Muskoka Paramedic Services and Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to 9-1-1 calls from members of the public about a two vehicle collision that occurred on Muskoka Road 169 near Narrows Road in Gravenhurst. The collision claimed two lives, that of a 50-year-old Gravenhurst man and a 61-year-old Muskoka Lakes Township man.
Investigations of this nature are complex and time consuming and on January 12, 2026, police arrested and charged 35-year-old Robyn Tonello, of Ramara Twp, with:
– Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death X 2
– Operation while Impaired- Over 80.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 14, 2026 for a bail hearing.
