Celebrating The Bracebridge Horticulture Society’s 90th Anniversary

Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney and the Bracebridge Horticulture Society gathered in Millennium Garden to plant a red baron crabapple tree to celebrate the groups 90th anniversary.

Founded in May 1932, the Bracebridge Horticultural Society has played a vital role in maintaining the beauty of Bracebridge and encouraging others to do the same. A team of dedicated volunteers, they are passionate about celebrating the beauty of the town and regularly engage with the community through various outreach initiatives including:

  • Participating in community parades;
  • Encouraging residents to plant front yard gardens through contests;
  • Planting, 3,560 tulips on Wharf Hill;
  • Purchasing books for the library to promote learning;
  • Establishing the Millennium Garden and so much more.

The Town of Bracebridge is committed to environmental stewardship through the urban forestry tree planting program. The Town plants several trees annually in an effort to improve the overall urban forest canopy. This planting program provides critical benefits for the community and the environment.
