The Town of Bracebridge is excited to celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM), a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health.

This month, join the Recreation Department for a selection of free programs to get moving. All activities are free, but advanced registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot.

  • Ab Blast | Thursday, June 6 from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.
  • Fun’n’Fit | Friday, June 14 from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.
  • Yoga | Tuesday, June 18 from 1 to 2 p.m.
  • Shape Your Body | Monday, June 24 from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

Explore the great outdoors
Bracebridge is home to a wide selection of trails suited to all abilities and activities, including hiking, biking, birdwatching and more. This month, explore the beauty in your backyard and plan a visit to one of the great trails in town, including:

  • Bracebridge Resource Management Centre;
  • Bracebridge Bay Trail;
  • Collin Cameron Trail;
  • South Monck/Covered Bridge Trail;
  • Strawberry Point Trail;
  • Trans Canada Trail;
  • Wilson’s Falls Trail; and
  • Woodchester Storybook Trail.

Looking for a route the whole family can enjoy? Take a walk along the storybook trail at Woodchester. This trail features the story, Penny and the Trail of Wonders, by author Courtney Murrell. As visitors walk the trail they are invited to follow the story of Penny and her dog Ralph as they embark on an adventure with eight pages along the route. Don’t forget to enjoy a view of the Muskoka River from the observation deck too.
