The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Ramara resident following a break and enter at a local business.
On September 23, 2025, shortly after midnight, Orillia OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a Colborne Street business. Witnesses observed a male and female entering the premises and leaving with several items. The suspects were described as wearing hospital masks and dark clothing, and were seen with a blue and white bicycle pulling a red wagon.
Officers quickly located one of the suspects nearby, in possession of the bicycle and wagon. Recovered items included:
107 packs of various cigarettes
1 case of Busch Light beer
1 case of Twisted Tea
13 packs of beef jerky
9 Guardian Sleeman cooler sleeves
As a result of the investigation, Nicholas Duval age 31; of Ramara has been charged with the following offences:
· Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
· Resist Peace Officer
· Disguise with Intent
· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
