Bracebridge OPP Find Impaired Driver During Winter Storm

On December 15, 2022, Bracebridge OPP officers were on general patrol on Muskoka Road 118 East, in Bracebridge. Just after 10 p.m. officers observed a pickup truck drive past them on Uffington Road.

The officers conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 23-year-old Roarke Mcooeye of Bracebridge, ON, with the following:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on January 18, 2023, to answer to his charges. Furthermore, his vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.

The Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign is an annual police enforcement and education initiative aimed at taking impaired drivers off Ontario roads during the holiday season. This year’s OPP Festive RIDE Campaign runs from November 17, 2022, to January 2, 2023.
