A barricaded person incident in Perry Township has ended peacefully. One person is being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
On January 29, 2024, the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident at a residence in Perry Township. Due to the nature of the incident and the location, the road was closed in both directions to ensure public safety.
The OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Canine Unit, uniform and crime unit members, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) assisted with the investigation. The person voluntarily exited the residence and safely surrendered to police without incident. They were apprehended and taken to hospital for assessment.
