During the morning on the 31st of March, 2022, at 1:45 a.m, Bancroft OPP attended a local business in the Town of Bancroft regarding a break and enter.
Hours later, Bancroft officers, assisted by the Bancroft Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), were out looking for a male who was wanted for a previous theft at a local business in the Town of Bancroft.
Officers observed the male and he was placed under arrest. The male was also identified as being involved in the previous break and enter.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Simpson, 34 years of Hastings Highlands, has been charged with:
· Theft under $5000 – shoplifting
· Break and enter to a place – commit indictable offence
· Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5000
· Fail to comply with probation order X 4.
The accused is being held pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on the 01st of April 2022.
