Assault With Weapon Incident Leads To Arrest In Midland

The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident in Midland that has left two people with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers were dispatched to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residential apartment complex near King Street and Robert Street on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at around 5:50 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers were able to contain the building and quickly located the suspect in the apartment complex. The suspect was placed into police custody, and a knife and pellet gun were seized.

Two victims were located with injuries, later determined to non-life-threatening in nature. One of the victims was transported to hospital for treatment.

There is no threat to public safety. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Unit.
