Arrest Made After Brazen Robbery In Downtown Midland

A daytime robbery at a business in downtown Midland has resulted in an arrest.

On April 11, 2022 at around noon, a male entered a business on King Street. The male left for a few minutes, but then returned to the business and upon his re-entry he smashed a display case.

The male then removed merchandise from the broken case and fled on foot. The owner of the business pursued the male on foot however, he escaped in a nearby vehicle.

Members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the scene and investigated along with members of the Crime Unit and the Central Region Forensic Identification Services Unit..

As a result of this investigation, an arrest was made and charges were laid on April 12. Trevor Karson, 32 years of Midland has been accused of the following charges contrary to the Criminal Code:

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Dangerous Driving

The accused was released from custody and must appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
