A third individual involved in an assault on a local youth has been identified and additional charges have been laid on the accused individuals.
On May 24, 2023, at 1:45 p.m., the Huntsville OPP was contacted by school administrators reporting a possible assault. Officers began an investigation into the allegations and were made aware of a video circulating on social media.
As a result of further investigation, an additional kidnapping charge and an upgraded charge of assault causing bodily harm have now been laid.
A female was taken to a field in a vehicle and assaulted. The female was sprayed with a chemical.
A 15-year-old female from Huntsville, a 17-year-old female from Armour Township and an 18-year-old female, Scirel Campese, from Perry Township have been charged with:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Theft under $5,000
- Forcible confinement
- Kidnapping
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date. Identities of those younger than 18-years-old are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
