Southern Georgian Bay OPP were on patrol and had completed a vehicle stop for a traffic related investigation in the early hours of June 12, 2021 on William Street, Midland.
At 2:22 a.m. June 12, 2021 the officer observed the same vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 12 in Tay Township. The vehicle was safely stopped in a Quarry Road business parking lot at which time the officer noted a different driver and entered into a drinking and driving investigation and arrested the driver. During the investigation the officer learned that the driver was under suspension for a previous drinking and driving investigation on June 6, 2021.
As a result of this investigation Owen Cadeau-Hennigar 20 years of London has been charged with the following driving related Criminal offences;
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
- Disobey stop sign – fail to stop
- Red light – fail to stop
The accused has a court date set for the end of June.
