The Town of Bracebridge tendered a vendor to replace the roof top air chiller at the Bracebridge Sportsplex in October 2022. The new roof-top unit was scheduled to arrive in June, but unfortunately, manufacturing and assembly delays has postponed the arrival until late August or early September.
To ensure the health and safety of patrons and visitors to the Sportsplex during this time, additional fans will be placed in the Limberettes gymnasium and common areas, and portable air conditioners have been installed in the group fitness studio, meeting rooms and administrative office space. The pool deck area is controlled by a separate unit and is not affected.
As the warmer temperatures start to arrive, residents are reminded to stay safe.
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water;
- Dress for the weather by wearing loose-fitted, light-coloured clothing, hats, and sunglasses;
- Avoid spending long periods of time in the heat; and
- Take a cool shower or bath.
