Since 2020, the Provincial Day of Action on Litter focuses on raising awareness about the impacts of waste on the environment and encourages everyone to take action at home and in the community. Interested individuals can participate in litter cleanups on May 9 and year round through programs such as Clean Muskoka Together.
Clean Muskoka Together is a Muskoka-wide community litter program organized by The District of Muskoka that provides all the tools residents and community organizations need to help keep Muskoka beautiful, including gloves, recycling bags and specially marked garbage bags. The program helps keep public and community places in your neighbourhood clean as well as provides helpful safety tips and resources.
