Local Brewery Takes Home Three Medals At Recent National Beer Competition

Oro Medonte’s very own Quayle’s Brewery won three medals at the Canada Beer Cup this past Friday night.  The awards were presented in Vancouver, BC.  Quayle’s won a Silver for their beer Sasquatch vs. Yeti – a Hazy IPA with all Ontario hops in a feature category promoting Canada’s own hop variety called Sasquatch .

Their biggest achievement was winning a Gold for Line 12 Helles Lager in the International Pale Lager category.  They also won Gold in this category in 2022.

This same beer took home Silver for Best in Show, meaning it was the second highest-ranked beer out of all the beers entered in the competition -which spanned 56 categories with over 1,500 entries from more than 250 breweries across every province and territory in the country!  What makes this beer even more special is that all the hops used in this award-winning beer are grown on Quayle’s farm.  This is the fourth and fifth award for Line 12 in the past three years, making it one of the most awarded beers in the country in recent times.  Line 12 is the first Ontario beer to be in the Best of Show since the competition started in 2022.  Judges were from all over the globe, so many of the beers were judged on an international palate.

“We are so very proud of this beer – it’s a solid beer that appeals to a wide spectrum of beer drinkers,” says Scott Bohanna-Martin, Head Brewer at Quayle’s.

Line 12 is available at select LCBO stores, Beer Stores, and many restaurants in the Orillia and surrounding area. You can also find it online for home delivery at www.quaylesbrewery.com or at the brewery, 4567 Line 12 N, Oro-Medonte, on tap or to take home.
