Vehicle Hits Tree In Orillia Parking Lot, Driver Charged With Impaired

Officers from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a female following a single motor vehicle crash in the City of Orillia.

At 8:00 a.m., on September 21, 2024, Orillia OPP responded to a call for a motor vehicle hitting a tree in a parking lot on West St. S and King St. Police were advised the lone vehicle driver was possibly impaired.

Upon arriving on scene police entered into an impaired investigation and observed several signs of impairment.

As a result of this investigation, Alexandria Aessie, 28-year-old of Oro-Medonte has been charged with:

Operation while impaired- alcohol and drug
Adult Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
Adult Driving while under suspension – while suspended under HTA Sec 41/42

The accused was held for a bail hearing and her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.
